Account and billing

The plan, the trial, how to subscribe or cancel, and what happens to your data when access ends.

LaunchPulse has one plan. There are no tiers to compare, no seat math, and no feature gates to reason about.

The plan

Maker — $5/month, or $39/year. The annual option is 35% off the monthly price and is marked with a save badge on the pricing cards. Same product either way.

You start with a 14-day trial and no credit card required. Sign up, install the tracker, go live, and use everything. Nothing asks for a card until the trial ends.

The plan allows up to 3 projects per organization.

Subscribing

The /subscribe page shows both price cards. Pick one and you’re sent to Stripe-hosted Checkout, where you enter your payment details. Promotion codes are accepted at checkout, so if you have one, enter it there.

Once payment goes through you’re returned to the app with access restored.

Managing and cancelling

Manage billing opens the Stripe Billing Portal. That’s where you:

  • update your payment method
  • see and download invoices
  • cancel your subscription

Cancelling schedules the subscription to end at the end of the period you already paid for. The billing page will then show “Ends on {date}” instead of “Renews on {date}” — you keep access until that date.

Billing statuses

The billing page shows one of these:

StatusWhat it means
Trialing (no card)Your local 14-day trial. Shows “Trial until {date}”
Trialing (subscribed)You’ve subscribed during the trial. Shows “Trial until {date}” and “First charge on {date}”
ActiveShows “Renews on {date}”, or “Ends on {date}” if you’ve scheduled a cancellation
Past dueA payment failed
Canceled / ExpiredNo active access to dashboards

What happens when access ends

This is the part people ask about, so here it is precisely.

Your data keeps being collected the whole time. The paywall sits on the dashboard, not on the collector. If your trial expires or your subscription is canceled, your live projects keep accepting and storing events exactly as before. Nothing is deleted, nothing is paused, nothing is lost. Subscribing again restores access to all of it, including everything that came in while you were locked out.

What actually changes when your trial expires or your subscription is canceled:

  • The app redirects you to the subscribe page instead of the dashboard.
  • You cannot take a new project live.

Three pages stay reachable no matter what, so you’re never trapped: the subscribe page, the billing page, and your account settings. You can always fix your payment method or log out.

Past due does not lock you out. When a charge fails, Stripe retries automatically on its own schedule, and those retries are the grace period. You’ll see a banner asking you to update your payment method, but your dashboards keep working while the retries run.

Trial banners and emails

During the no-card trial a countdown banner shows how much time is left. On the final day it switches to “trial ends today.”

A reminder email goes out once, when the trial has 3 days or fewer remaining.

Emails LaunchPulse may send you about billing:

  • subscription confirmed
  • cancellation scheduled
  • canceled
  • payment failed
  • trial ending reminder

Account settings

Everything about your identity lives at /account.

Display name

A text field, up to 80 characters. Saving applies it immediately.

Changing your email

Enter the new address and a confirmation link is sent to the new address. Nothing changes until you click that link — your old address stays in effect, and you can still log in with it in the meantime.

One behavior worth knowing: if the new address already belongs to another account, the UI still reports success and no email arrives. That’s deliberate. If the form told you “that address is taken,” anyone could use it to check which emails are registered with LaunchPulse. Silence is the price of not leaking that.

If you enter an address and no confirmation email arrives, check spam first, then consider whether that address is already tied to another LaunchPulse account.

Email verification

Verification is a soft gate. You can sign up, install the tracker, and explore the app without verifying. But an unverified email blocks Go Live — see Going live.

A banner offers to resend the verification email. Resends are limited to roughly 4 per hour.
