Weekly Pulse
The weekly email digest and the in-app weekly page, and the exact rules behind each insight.
Weekly Pulse is the version of your analytics you don’t have to remember to open. Once a week, this week versus last week, in your inbox.
The in-app page
/projects/:id/weekly shows the same comparison in the app. It’s reachable by URL but is not linked in the sidebar nav — bookmark it if you want it handy.
It shows this week against last week:
- Visitors, with a ↑/↓ n% delta
- Conversions, labeled with your configured conversion, with a delta
- First value, when you’ve configured a first-value event, with a delta
- Best source
For the exact definitions of converters, activated and the rates, see the Pulse dashboard.
Best source
How “best source” is chosen depends on your configuration:
- If you have a first-value event configured, it’s the source with the highest activation rate.
- Otherwise, it’s the source with the most converters.
The first is the better signal, and it’s a good reason to configure a first-value event. A source can send you plenty of signups and still be your worst channel if none of those people ever get to value. Activation rate catches that; converter count doesn’t.
The email digest
The digest is sent weekly to org members who haven’t opted out.
A few things worth knowing:
- A week with zero visitors is skipped entirely. You won’t get an email telling you nothing happened. If your inbox is quiet, that’s the reason — not a broken job.
- It’s localized in English and Spanish.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link. Opting out is per-person, so one member unsubscribing doesn’t affect the rest of your org.
Manage recipients and opt-outs from account and billing.
The insight rules
Each digest includes one insight line. It’s generated by fixed rules, not AI — pure deterministic arithmetic over your numbers. The same data always produces the same sentence, and you can verify any of them by hand from the Pulse dashboard and Sources pages.
Here is the complete rule set:
| Trigger | Message |
|---|---|
| Visitors up ≥30% and conversion rate fell below 80% of last week’s | “Traffic grew {n}% but conversion weakened — worth a look at your funnel.” |
| First value configured, ≥2 sources with converters, best source ≥1.5× worst on activation | “{A} users were {x}× more likely to reach first value than {B}.” |
| Converters up vs last week (and last week > 0) | “Conversions are up {n}% from last week.” |
| No other rule fired, but there was traffic | “A steady week — no major changes.” |
That’s the whole list. There is nothing hidden, no model deciding what to tell you, and no chance of an invented number. If you want an insight you’re not getting, check whether its conditions are actually met — most commonly, the activation comparison needs a first-value event configured and at least two sources with converters.
What to do with each one
“Traffic grew but conversion weakened.” You got more people and a smaller share of them converted. Usually this means a spike came from a source that was a worse match than your usual traffic. Open Sources, find the new arrival, and check its rate against the others before you conclude your funnel broke.
“{A} users were {x}× more likely to reach first value.” This is the most actionable line in the digest. One channel is sending people who actually get value. That’s the channel to invest more in — and it’s worth looking at what those users have in common.
“Conversions are up {n}%.” Something worked. Check whether it was more traffic or a better rate: if visitors grew about the same percentage, you bought the increase with volume; if the rate moved, you improved something. Only the second one compounds.
“A steady week.” No rule tripped. This is a real result, not a fallback error — it means nothing moved enough to be worth your attention this week.
The relationship between the digest and the dashboards
The digest is a summary of a fixed window: this week versus last week. The dashboards let you pick a range. If a number in the email doesn’t match what you see on the Pulse, check the range selector first — comparing a 30d dashboard view against a weekly digest will never line up.
